We want to create interior spaces that please the eye and the soul. We are passionate about preserving the quality and personality of what is often discarded and seen as unusable. Our design aesthetic incorporates freshening and re-creating vintage furnishings and accessories, to create rooms that take the best of the past, while mixing in current items for everyday functionality. The most importa

nt aspect of interior design is to create a room that meets the needs of the client. Customizing and updating vintage elements can achieve this goal while adding a one-of-a-kind appearance.

I check my clients’ competition before I ever look at their Pinterest boards.
Because I need to know what a guest is already seeing when they search that market.
And usually? There’s plenty of pretty.
Pretty kitchens. Pretty bedrooms. Pretty wallpaper. Pretty pictures.
But I’m not trying to create prettier.
I’m looking for the opportunity to create an experience that makes a guest feel something.
Maybe it’s nostalgia. Escape. Adventure. Romance. A real sense of place.
Because when a property creates an emotional connection, it gives the guest something to remember long after checkout.
That’s where the Big Idea™ comes in.
It’s the narrative behind the experience and the thread that helps carry that feeling through the property instead of creating another collection of pretty rooms.
So take a look at your own STR.
What are you actually asking your guests to feel?
If you don’t have an answer yet, that’s a pretty good place to start.
My FREE Big Idea™ Scorecard takes about five minutes and helps you see whether there’s a clear Big Idea™ behind what you’ve created.
Comment SCORECARD below and find out what your property is really giving your guests to remember.

That extra throw pillow isn’t going to save your listing.
Neither is another lamp, another rug, or that really cute thing you found at HomeGoods that you absolutely had to have.
I know how this goes.
You bring it home, put it in the room, step back and think…
Why does this still not feel right?
The problem may not be what you’re buying.
It may be that you don’t know what all of those things are supposed to add up to.
That’s where your Big Idea™ comes in.
When you have a clear direction behind the property, you stop choosing things simply because you like them and start asking whether they actually belong in the experience you’re creating.
And believe me, those are two very different ways to spend a design budget.
Not sure whether your property has that kind of direction yet?
My FREE Big Idea™ Scorecard will help you figure it out in 15 quick questions and about five minutes.
Comment SCORECARD below and take it before another box shows up at your front door.

A pretty Airbnb can still be completely forgettable.

A color palette should do more than make the rooms look good together. When it starts with a strong Big Idea and an intentional design plan, it becomes the thread that pulls the entire property together.

It tells guests how the space should feel. It gives every room a point of view. And it turns a nice place to stay into an experience they remember, photograph and talk about long after checkout.

That’s the difference between decorating a property and giving it a story.

Not sure your property has a strong enough Big Idea?

Stop blaming your photographer.
At least, not yet.
When an Airbnb isn’t getting the attention you thought it would, it’s really easy to start blaming the photos. Or the pricing. Or assume you need another amenity.
But sometimes the problem starts before any of that.
You can have beautiful photos of a beautiful property and still have a listing that looks a whole lot like everything else in your market.
Because pretty isn’t the same thing as memorable.
Before you spend more money trying to fix the symptoms, I want you to figure out whether there’s actually a clear Big Idea™ behind your property.
What’s the story?
Who are you creating it for?
What do you want your guests to feel?
And does your design actually communicate any of that?
That’s exactly why I created the FREE Big Idea™ Scorecard.
It’s 15 quick questions, takes about five minutes, and gives you a really good place to start figuring out what your property might be missing.

The Big Idea has been cast. Now I’m auditioning the supporting characters. 👀

Today’s audition? Wallpaper.

I’m unboxing wallpaper samples for a short term rental design project, and this is one of my favorite parts of the process.

Because once I know the story I want a property to tell, I’m not wandering around collecting random pretty things and hoping they all get along.

Every choice has a job.

The wallpaper. The lighting. The color. The art. Even the damn coffee maker.

These samples from Spoonflower aren’t just pretty wallpaper. They’re auditioning for the Big Idea.

Some will get the part.

Some will be thanked very much for coming. 😂

And eventually, all those supporting characters start telling the same story.

Which one would YOU cast? Tell me below. 👀

Turns out the dream job still has deadlines, chaos, and approximately 47 tabs open. Still obsessed. 💗

A few punchier alternatives:

Built a job I don’t need a vacation from. Still taking the vacation. 😎

Very into this whole making-a-living-doing-what-I-love thing.

The plot twist? I actually love Mondays.

A little chaotic. A lot grateful. Would choose it again.

But “The plot twist? I actually love Mondays.” is especially strong with that overlay—short, clever, and not trying too hard.
