Proud to announce that we are now carrying Shoyeido Japanese incense at our shop in Boonton! After doing some research I was happy to find an incense company with a US production facility that ethically sources high quality, all natural ingredients and doesn’t engage in animal testing!

Since I admittedly have never been an incense guy (thanks allergies!), I appreciate the subtle, delicate, mellow ambiance and lower smoke created by Japanese-style incense. These are drastically different than the Indian Masala style that most of us are accustomed to. Come experience the difference for yourself!

All set up at in Maplewood today! We’ll be here 12pm-6pm. The shop in Boonton is closed but will reopen Wednesday at 11am. See you somewhere!

Pride Month. It’s always difficult to say “Happy”, mainly because Pride is still needed and I don’t feel particularly happy about that. In fact, controversial confession: I dread it. Pride month is exhausting. It’s a solemn reminder of how much work is left to do.

It is no secret that LGBTQIA+, especially the “T’s” civil rights are being challenged and in some cases, stripped federally and in many states. Hearing the already over-amplified straight, white, cisgender person tell us to “get over ourselves” or witnessing them choosing to stay silent/neutral because LGBTQIA+ rights are “politically divisive”, is always infuriating, but hits even deeper when it’s happening in your own town. I’m looking at you - oh there are others too, but when you have a bigot for a mayor who rather veto a majority decision and allow Third Reich N**i flags to be passed out in Town Hall, than allow a Pride Flag to be flown in a park during the month of June, it trickles down and citizens, even some that claim to be allies, feel emboldened to be hateful and attempt to silence us.

That being said, we have faith in you, Boonton. There are so many LGBTQIA+ business owners, allied businesses, organizations like , community members, and true allies in this small town who are willing to do what they can to stand up for civil rights.

We aren’t going anywhere and we are working hard to call out and squash the bigotry. We want to remind everyone that Boonton truly has the potential to be “Small Town, Big Heart”, rather than “Small Town, Bigots”.

So please, come to Boonton! Shop and eat where you see the rainbows and the “Hate Is Not Welcome” decals (courtesy of ). Stop by our shop to talk to us or write Mayor Jim Lynch a heartfelt letter to wish him the Pride Month he deserves (we even have color-your-own rainbow cards courtesy of ).

Don’t be a stranger. The LGBTQIA+ and allied business community need your support more than ever!

PS : Thank you to for the “Human” poster - come to Pride Day on 6/20 12pm-4pm at Gracelord Park!

Happy Eve of Pride Month and shame on and former council member Mike Eoga.

Our shop window friend and swell guy Billie Crystal is back to give you and the people passing by on the cliff notes on what happened recently in .

“Hey Folks! Don’t you love all of the LGBTQIA+ Pride flags you see around Boonton? What a powerful commitment to building a community based on tolerance, inclusion, and social justice! But Mayor Jim Lynch thinks a Pride Flag in Grace Lord Park (municipal property) is a BAD thing, so bad, in fact, that he vetoed an ordinance passed by our town council and allowed a former council member named Mike Eoga to distribute N**i Third Reich flags to sitting council members on May 18th’s town council meeting!
Crikey, that’s scary, and there are ways to push back. Vote blue, call out hate when you see it, and report civil rights abuses when you witness them!”

These Bulgarian Quartz clusters are looking pretty naughty with their tantalizing galena and pyrite inclusions.

But don’t you dare lick them…

You’ll end up in the hospital.

Last night at the Boonton Town Council meeting, during open public comment on amending the flag ordinance, former republican council member Michael Eoga doubled down on his hateful rhetoric from two weeks ago and passed out handouts of a N**i sw****ka flag to each council member, two of whom are Jewish.

Once again, Mayor Jim Lynch did nothing, except to defend Eoga’s freedom of speech, despite objections from the public and council members on the dais.

Beyond that, council member Weisman, brought to the attention of the entire room that not all council members disposed of the hate symbol, and we were told by those sitting in the front row that Mayor Lynch left his in full view for the entirety of public comment.

If that doesn’t constitute condoning hate speech, I don’t know what does.
