Today’s the day! ⚓️🌟 Boston Harbor comes alive as the magnificent Tall Ships make their spectacular Parade of Sail under full sail!
To mark the occasion, we’re spotlighting an exceptional marine painting in the gallery at our flagship location, New Hampshire Antique Co-op.
Antonio Jacobsen (1850–1921) is recognized as one of America’s foremost marine painters. Renowned for his meticulously detailed ship portraits, his works are represented in major museum collections.
This signed oil on board, dated 1914, depicts the four-masted barque Roanoke. Built in 1892 on the Kennebec River in Bath, Maine, she was the third-largest wooden ship ever built in an American shipyard.
Housed in a fine giltwood frame. 30½” H × 46” W.
