⠀⠀⠀
⤷ Opening Reception ⋙ Friday Sep 25, 6-8pm⠀
⠀
⋙ Come see my 𖤐IMMIGRANT WITCH’s CLOAK𖤐 in + group art show PAGES TO PALETTE inspired by 📚❝There is A Rio Grande in Heaven❞ by . ⠀
⠀
⋙ This time with a new twist, my piece will be accompanied by an interactive vessel to collect words or short phrases that represent the immigrant journey of my fellow Boston immigrants. I plan to use them in a bigger piece in the future.⠀
⠀
⋙ As many of you know, the location of this show and event is near and dear to my heart. It’s where I used to work for over two years between 2023 and 2025. So I’m especially excited to have my work shown at The Local Hand. ⠀

ABOUT THE SHOW: ⠀
❝ A collaboration between The Local Hand and Just Book-ish, this show invites local artists to create works of art inspired by There is A Rio Grande in Heaven by Ruben Reyes Jr. ⠀
⠀
Reyes has found that delicate blend of futurism, sci-fi, brown-ness, and queerness. Each short story included reads like poetry at times, erotica at other times. There is a reflective nature of each story teller and the challenges they face speak to the challenges of migration, class, and environmentalism. Right now, more than ever, these stories remind us of the struggles and resistance of building new futures.⠀
⠀
We believe art and literature are powerful tools in bringing people together, and we hope this show will promote artistic exploration, an opportunity to read beautiful stories, and a space for neighbors to heal and create together. ❞⠀⠀⠀
