Check out her Q&A below:
1. How did you get started in the A/E/C Industry?
When I was little, I loved playing with Legos, drawing and building things. My parents told me that maybe I should be an architect, and that if I learned how to spell it, I could be it – this has always stuck with me since then. Flash forward 30 years later I passed my ARE exams in December of 2022. It was not an easy road and I failed multiple times, but the thought of not meeting this goal I had for so long did not seem right.
2. What advice do you have for young women entering the A/E/C industry?
Don’t be afraid to speak up and show your strengths - it is okay to be direct. When you maintain flexibility and approachability, you can create strong relationships based on mutual trust and respect. Be friendly but fierce.
