Hacin is extremely excited to share our upcoming event, Partners in Craft: A Collection of Makers & Artisans!

Join us in our gallery space at 500 Harrison during this year’s SoWa Design Day for an afternoon celebrating the art of craftsmanship and the role it plays in design. This gathering brings together some of the artisans we've built relationships with over years of practice and makers whose work we deeply admire.

Craft has always been central to how Hacin designs and our forthcoming book explores this ethos, explaining how the best spaces carry the marks of the people who made them. We believe that these details are what give a home its character and we see our role less as imposing a single vision and more as collaborators, finding the right details for the right client and thoughtfully bringing all of the pieces together.

This event gathers some of these skilled makers together in person, providing an opportunity to see their work up close and talk with them directly about their process. Participating craftspeople include , , , , , , , , and . Hacin is thrilled to celebrate the kind of craftsmanship that takes time, skill, and care to produce, which we have the great privilege of weaving into our projects.

We'll also have a sneak peek of our upcoming book, Stories of Home: Residential Design by Hacin. to RSVP!

Stories of Home, Coming November 10, 2026

We are thrilled to announce that our first book is releasing this fall. Stories of Home presents a selection of projects from Hacin’s thirty years of practice, exploring how, in collaboration with its clients and collaborators, the studio creates spaces that foster a true sense of belonging and connection.

With a foreword by , the book reflects on Hacin’s private residential portfolio and narrative approach to design and placemaking for contemporary residences in Boston and across the United States. Interwoven throughout are essays on the studio’s commitment to concept-driven design, skilled craftsmanship, community, and the historic character of Boston’s neighborhoods, the setting of much of Hacin’s work.

Hacin recently completed an interior refresh of the in Rockport, MA, updating all common spaces including the lobby, stairways and circulation, public restrooms, artist green room, and fourth floor reception hall.

Color variations and organic striations of rocks from the nearby Cape Ann harbor provided palette inspiration - the use of these tones layered color throughout the building, combining cool shades of water and granite with warm accents representing sand and minerals.
