When it comes to cabinets there are countless options. Being able to sift through and determine what is best for you is often a balance of aesthetics and function. There is frameless and also framed cabinets. Inset and raised door panels, countless wood varieties, veneers, synthetics and mdf! And that is just the tip of the iceberg! An island that is unique in color, texture and material helps to draw the eye to a particular area. One of the first things I do when analyzing a space is understanding where we want the eye to go when first entering. Is it a narrow space where we want it to focus in a way that makes the space feel larger? Or maybe taller? A great tool we use for making, particularly in “L” shaped kitchens, is using a unique color in an island in order to offer a contrast to the backdrop. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The crisp clean look of modern slab door cabinets seems to be dominating recent marketplace trends. From a design perspective it allows for the cabinets to be treated as a block of color that contributes to an overall complex canvas. Not only that... but they are available in eco friendly materials that are endlessly durable and incredibly easy to clean! We love it and are finding that our customers do too! Perhaps most of all.... designing with them is just flat out fun!!!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

White kitchens are a classic for a reason. If color can be a way of making a statement, equally can the absence of it. I get made fun of for always ordering plain vanilla ice cream but I say sometimes in life..... why mess with a good thing. I more than make up for it in other areas. Kitchens that utilize different shades of a white/off white pallet can provide a calming space that will forever be “in-style”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
