When designing a van, it is important to consider how your van will be used and what might make the most sense, even if that may differ from popular van designs.

We'll often install large, heavy-duty gear trays under the bed for bike storage or other fun toys. But Patty, traveling with three dogs, needed to have an area her dogs could lay in while at camp.

We can't forget to plan for our furry friends when designing vans - if you don't, you may find they are constantly in your way as you walk through your space.

That's why we opted for a much smaller gear tray for Patty- so that her pups could have a nice Den to lay in and stay clear of traffic.

Sawtooth was specially built for our incredible client Russ, who had a vision for a van that delivers unparalleled offroad performance with a warm, high-end and functional interior.

Calling all chefs out there 🧑‍🍳

Fridge storage can really determine just how long you're away from civilization. In order to keep a fully stocked fridge for long adventures, we made sure Don was properly set up.

If you want to bring the fam with you, they're gonna need a seatbelt!

You may like the idea of just throwing people in the back of the van, but riding without a seatbelt and seat that faces forward can be both dangerous and illegal.

The downside of most four person vans? The seats take up a ton of space in the living area, making the layout crowded and dysfunctional.

Enter this BroadArrow 860 seat with a swiveling base. Now you have a strong, comfortable seat that allows you to ride in style with four people without compromising your layout.

Keep the seat facing forward when driving, but once you get to camp, you can easily swivel the seat around to serve as a bench, keeping the layout of the van nice and open, offering a front lounge area for your friends and family.

When it comes to the roof of your van, there's a lot you can do!

We put a roof rack on practically every van we build for lots of different reasons:
-They reduce how many holes you drill through your roof
-Offer great mounting for solar panels
-Lot's of modularity to work around fans and AC units
-Mounting locations for lots of lights, awnings, and other accessories

Another favorite feature we added to Mesa? A suspension upgrade.

The seamless transitions make overlanding and highway driving much smoother. Mesa recently came into the shop for some maintenance, and our client said that the Evictus suspension was his the best decision he made for his van build.
