Spruill Studio

Spruill Studio Creating personalized, livable interiors that feel like home. Based in Boulder and the Vail Valley. Every home tells a story.

At Spruill Studio, I help clients shape theirs through interiors that feel both refined and livable. I’m Jessica Spruill, founder and principal designer of Spruill Studio, a client-centered, design-forward interior design firm based in the Boulder/Denver metro area and the Vail Valley. My work is grounded in creativity and precision, blending a love of shaping interiors with a professional backgro

und in business and project management. After more than a decade in investment banking, I shifted careers to pursue a lifelong passion for residential design. I studied Interior Design at Parsons School of Design while overseeing the design and construction of several homes, including two new builds — an experience that reinforced my love for thoughtful, well-executed spaces. Spruill Studio partners closely with clients, builders, and architects to deliver tailored interiors that express personal style and balance beauty with function. While I primarily serve clients in Boulder/Denver and the Vail Valley, I also collaborate on select projects beyond Colorado when the right opportunity arises. Let’s connect if you’re interested in creating a home that reflects the way you live.

Every detail in this room works twice as hard as it looks.

That bold steel cabinet is a custom built Murphy bed — designed to disappear completely into the room when not in use. The cabinetry on either side doubles as nightstands with lamps already in place when the bed comes down. The bedding is tucked away inside the built-ins behind closed doors. Guests arrive to a fully equipped room. Nobody else ever knows it's there.

During the day it's a media room with a fireplace, Colorado views, and enough seating for a crowd. At night it becomes a private, comfortable guest room.

This is the kind of design thinking that makes a home work harder for the people living in it — without ever asking them to compromise on how it looks.

Good design isn’t always about statement pieces.

Sometimes it’s about creating quiet moments — a comfortable seat, soft textures, and a sense of ease that invites you to slow down.

This space is a great example of an intentional contrast of materials.

Warm wood panels with metal reveals, a custom concrete mantel, and metal and glass details create visual interest while keeping the palette calm and cohesive.

Polished concrete floors are softened by carved wood artwork, modern leather chairs, and sheepskin pillows — a combination that keeps the room feeling both refined and comfortable.

Careful material pairings like this help a room feel both interesting and inviting.

New project in North Boulder with Chanin Development. Great bones, incredible setting, and a design story grounded in the landscape.

More to come. 🏔️

¡Magnífico!

Three very different sconces, one very happy designer. We're deep into install on our Los Cabos project and these bathroom sconces have been a highlight — the cylindrical pair with that sculptural middle detail, the sinuous hourglass form lit up against the vanity, and that smoky glass globe that's already a work of art even before the bulbs go in. Lighting is everything in a bathroom and these three deliver in very different ways.

More Cabo updates coming soon.

Some projects feel like they were meant to be. This North Boulder home — tucked into a quiet street where the road starts to climb toward the foothills — is one of them.

This is actually my third collaboration with Chanin Development. He built my own home. I later redesigned key spaces in his. And now we're deep into this one together — a major reimagining of a home that already had incredible bones and an unbeatable setting.

The design brief wrote itself: honor where you are. North Boulder sits at the edge of the foothills — raw stone, warm earth tones, the greens of the canyon, weathered wood. We're bringing all of that inside.

Warm walnut, limestone, white oak flooring, hot rolled steel, local stone, grasscloth and sisal wallcoverings… materials that feel like they belong to this landscape rather than being imposed on it. Elevated and contemporary, but grounded.

Framing and roughs are nearly done. Finish selections well underway. Stay tuned.

Lighting plays a much bigger role in a space than most people realize.

It’s not just about brightness—it’s about how light is layered, where it’s placed, and how it interacts with materials throughout the day.

Well-designed lighting can soften a space, highlight architectural features, and create a more comfortable, inviting feel.

It’s one of the most impactful—and often overlooked—elements in a home.

A little late sharing this from High Point Market but it was too good not to post — Kravet's collaboration with Brown Jordan for outdoor living is really something special.

The fabrics, the scale, the sculptural accents… this collection proves outdoor spaces can be just as thoughtfully designed as any interior.

That solar lantern detail had me taking notes. Worth a look if you're planning an outdoor refresh.

Natural light was a priority in this bath.

Vaulted ceilings and expansive windows frame the landscape, while soft Roman shades keep the view uninterrupted. Even the glass back wall of the shower helps the space feel open and connected to the outdoors.
The large mirror and airy chandelier amplify the light, creating a calm, almost ethereal feel.

Natural light has such a powerful impact on how a space feels — open, airy, and connected to its surroundings.
