Cheesecake Brownies

Ingredients

Brownie Layer:

* 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
* 1 cup granulated sugar
* 2 large eggs
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
* 1/3 cup cocoa powder
* 1/4 tsp salt
* 1/4 tsp baking powder

Cheesecake Layer:

* 8 oz cream cheese, softened
* 1/4 cup granulated sugar
* 1 large egg
* 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Make brownie batter:
In a bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla, mix until smooth.
Stir in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until combined.
3. Make cheesecake layer:
In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.
Add sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix until creamy.
4. Assemble:
Pour most of the brownie batter into the pan (reserve a few spoonfuls).
Spread cheesecake mixture evenly on top.
Drop remaining brownie batter in small spoonfuls and swirl with a knife.
5. Bake:
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until center is set but slightly fudgy.
6. Cool completely before slicing for clean layers.
