One of the biggest hesitations I hear when it comes to hiring an interior designer is the cost.

It’s easy to think, “I can save money by skipping the designer and putting that budget toward something else.”

🔹Does the space feel balanced?
🔹Is there a natural focal point?
🔹Does anything feel distracting or out of place?

If it’s trendy - it may look good for a while, and it may get you a couple of compliments for a bit. But if it has character - if it’s unlike anything others have seen, if it shows them a part of who you are the moment they step inside, and if it has a depth to it that can’t be replicated…that is when you know you’ve succeeded at honing your style. Painted cabinets brighten your space by reflecting light, offer endless color possibilities, and are versatile, but they can show wear more easily and typically require more upkeep when it comes to cleaning. Stained cabinets showcase the depth and beauty of wood, add a warmth and texture to your space, and age gracefully, but color options are limited and they carry a stigma of dating a space, especially in certain stains.

Which option do you prefer? No wrong answer!
