First pieces from those black walnut logs in the previous post. These were turned green (while the wood is still wet) I’m trying to control the checking that happens as they dry and will finish when they get to 7% moisture. Love the wide band of sapwood. Thanks Sandy!

From a tree at Salt Springs State Park. The Board asked me to make some memorial pieces from this maple that was recently taken down to make room for a building renovation. Unfortunately some cracking and checking ruined a few tries (see the cracked logo piece at the end) but otherwise I have these and a few more drying. Follow their social media for details but I believe they will be making some of these pieces available for fund raising. Thank you to Debra and the board for letting me be part of this project.

My Barber has a cool logo that he let me use here. I did exercise a little artistic license when I dry brushed the hair...
