We sell finished live edge pieces, unfinished slabs and craft custom furniture upon request. Our family has been in the hardwood industry for over 50 years. We source our slabs from Southwest Michigan where our family has owned a sawmill since 1980. Some of the best hardwoods in the world are grown in this area. With our expert knowledge of hardwood variations, we take the time to hand pick each s
lab. We look for unique characteristics such as spalting (wood coloration that occurs at the end of a tree's life), curling (wavy lines in the wood pattern) and worming (mineral streaks caused by the Ambrosia beetle) so that our furniture designs are one of a kind. All slabs are kiln dried to 8% moisture content, planed and leveled to avoid any bugs or warping. Once the slab has been selected, we deliver the slabs to our workshop in Florida and begin the detailed process of finishing the piece. This is a time consuming process that involves filling voids and cracks with epoxy (we use West Systems due to it's superior quality), sanding and applying the finish. Osmo Polyx is our preferred finish due to it's long-term durability and subtle sheen. We partner with a local welder to supply most of our metal legs and bases. From sourcing the hardwood slabs to finishing each unique piece, it's a family effort from start to finish.
