Is it a TV? Is it art? And where exactly is all the equipment? 👀📺

That’s kind of the point.

For this living room installation, we wanted great entertainment without making the room LOOK like it was built around a bunch of technology.

A Samsung Frame TV blends into the space when it’s not being used, while a pair of Klipsch Reference Series speakers delivers a serious upgrade in sound.

Turn on the TV? The audio automatically plays through the Klipsch speakers.

Want some music? Those same speakers are powered by a Sonos Amp and become part of the Sonos system.

Feel like going old school? We later added a record player so the homeowners can enjoy their vinyl collection through them, too. 🎶

Meanwhile, the cables, One Connect box, and other equipment are carefully tucked out of sight.

One room. One pair of speakers. TV, streaming music AND vinyl.

We can assure you... they are VERY much alive and well.

There’s something different about walking into a room designed for one purpose: experiencing a movie in all its glory.

For this custom theater, the homeowner wanted performance without sacrificing aesthetics. That meant carefully planning every detail so the technology could deliver an incredible experience without taking over the room.

🔊 Every speaker is hidden from view.
🎵 Acoustic panels help keep the sound tight, balanced, and exactly where it should be.
✨ A fiber optic ceiling creates that classic starry-night theater atmosphere.

The result is a space where you can turn down the lights, settle in, and experience the story the way the director, actors, and sound designers intended.

Sure, you can watch a movie in the living room.

But THIS is going to the movies without leaving home.

In the latest episode of What’s on the Horizon, Chris talks about something homeowners don’t always consider when planning a security system: your insurance company may have an opinion about it.

For some high-value custom homes, we’ve encountered insurance companies that actually require certain monitored safety systems. For other homeowners, adding the right protection could potentially qualify them for insurance discounts.

We’re talking about things like monitored smoke detectors, burglary protection, water leak detection, and even automatic water shutoff valves that can turn off the water when a leak is detected.

Because discovering a leak is helpful. Discovering it AND automatically shutting off the water while you’re away from home? That’s even better.

Every insurance company and policy is different, so the first step is always talking with your insurance provider.

It's 2026.

Everything is wireless.

So why are we STILL trying to put Ethernet cable in your house?

Because here's one of the weird secrets of really good Wi-Fi:

It involves a surprising number of wires.

Your phone? Wireless.

Your tablet? Wireless.

The TV that hasn't moved from the same wall in six years? Maybe that one doesn't need to fight your phone for Wi-Fi.

And that wireless access point providing great coverage throughout the house? We'd often rather wire that too.

But before anyone gets comfortable with their popcorn, there's some work to do!

We're taking you behind the scenes as our Digital Horizons team installs a custom home theater, complete with a projector, speakers, and accent lighting designed to set the mood.

And while a giant screen might get all the attention, there's a whole lot happening behind the scenes to make a home theater look and sound incredible.

From carefully positioning speakers and the projector to installing linear track lighting that creates just the right atmosphere, every detail matters.

A bowling alley. In your HOUSE. 🎳

Okay, we don't actually build bowling alleys. But when a homeowner decides to put one in, you can bet we want to be part of the fun!

For this project, our job was to make sure the technology worked seamlessly with the bowling experience.

That meant integrating video displays for the bowling system and scoring, creating easy control of the lighting, and installing an audio system that can match whatever kind of night is happening.

Serious bowling competition? Let's go. 🏆

A few frames with friends, some music, and a little friendly trash talk? Even better.

Whether it's a home theater, a golf simulator, or yes, even a bowling alley, we love finding ways to make technology part of the experience without making it complicated.

Wait... you install Sonos, but you're telling me I might not need you?

Yep. Sometimes that's exactly what we're saying.

We love Sonos. But there's a BIG difference between putting a few wireless speakers around your house and designing an audio system for your kitchen, great room, patio, garage and every other place you want music.

So when is Sonos all you need? When does it make sense to bring in a professional? And can you have Sonos without speakers sitting on every countertop?

Minnesota porch season is WAY too short. So what if you could cheat the calendar a little? 👀

For this Northwest Angle project, we installed motorized clear vinyl screens that help block bugs, wind and rain while keeping heat inside the porch.

Beautiful day? Open them up.

Cold, windy or buggy? Drop them down.

And because we coordinated with Nor-Son Construction to recess the tracks, the technology blends right into the space.

More porch days in northern Minnesota? We’ll take every single one. 🙌
