Did you know fall is actually the best time to plant peonies? In fact, as long as you can work the ground, you can plant them (even if its frosty!). Today's im adding 80 more to the field including green lotus, the fawn, more Sarah B's, and a new favorite of mine, Do Tell. Can wait to see these bloom!!!

While the fields are still bursting with gorgeous late season harvests, the rhythm of the day is shifting completely. The afternoon scorching temperatures are now giving way to crisp fall air and flannel weather. The dahalis/zinnas/hydrangea are getting harvested while they can but annuals are getting pulled and fields are getting prepped and tilled for fall and dare I utter it... winter. I dont mind the change in temps but I am sad the flowers are going to be winding down in the near future. The change is upon us and its time to shift gears!

Its official, the first of several fall bare root orders came today and what a treat this one is indeed! This root here is the super amazing peony called "Lois' choice". When blooming, it will show off a double bloom in all shades of Apricot, coral, and light yellow. This is definitely not your run of the mill peony and is an incredible plant to add to the fields. I cant wait to see it bloom!

Also, take a moment to admire how huge this root is and how many eyes are on it (for those who don't know, its gaint and has SO many eyes!). Shout out to Oh My Peonies for having amazing roots!

Sent the farm hands out to the field to pick raspberries. They returned with empty buckets and full bellies.

Even though I was on vacation, the flowers sure were not! There are bucket loads of flowers ready to go here on the farm. Been working all morning getting subscription bouquets ready to go for tomorrow's delivery. While cutting, I even found a little friend chilling on top of the flowers (swipe to the end to see but dont swipe if you don't like snakes...)

Holy...moly....check out these blooms!!!! I am blinded by how gorgeous this week's bouquets turned out!!! There is everything from giant dahlias, eucalyptus, straw flowers, gomphrema, to lisianthus in these bunches. So pretty, it takes your breath away! Huge shout out to for hooking me up with some of these absolutely incredible blooms!!!! Honestly, this type of bouquet makes me so happy because it's where other flower farms support other flower farms. Its not about competing but making each other better. The goal to to supply locally grown flowers, whether it comes from my farm or another, everything here was grown within 30 minutes. Pretty incredible I would dare say.

On that note, If you're a local buisness in the Brainerd lakes area or Aitkin area, reach out to me! There are still so many flowers and we can set up weekly flower deliveries right to your buisness!

We will be offering formal CSA's this spring (which means weekly bouquets for your home or buisness) but spots are limited. Reach out to set this up!

IT'S HERE! The epic suprise is a new greenhouse! I no longer need to battle seed demolishing/baby plant killing chipmunks, fight a leaky roof, or worry about the glass falling out of the windows!!! I can't express how in love I am with this greenhouse. In the future there will be a cute path to the door and native plants landscaped and surrounding the building to feed the pollinators.

Until then, I'm am already putting the greenhouse to work. Even though flowers are still blooming like crazy, I have to plan for the next year already. Right now, that means i have to start saving seeds and getting some additional plants in the ground so they can establish roots. Tulips and daffodil bulbs will be coming soon so I also have to also prepare for that. With any luck, this greenhouse will allow me to have flowers blooming before mother's day!

This week's flowers are giving dessert vibes! I am loving these bouquets and the classic "berries and cream" combo. You'll find vanilla strawberry hydrangea, diamond rouge hydrangea, blue muffin Viburnum, red Viburnum, amd raspberry foliage playing together in this bouquet.

We also made good progress on the new exciting project and plan to show everyone what the secret is after Wednesday! Stay tuned for that!

We are officially standing at the beautiful crossroads of the seasons.

Right now, our fields are experiencing a magical overlap. The vibrant, sun-drenched blooms of late summer are sharing the spotlight with the rich, moody textures of early fall. It is a breathtaking time of year where you get the absolute best of both worlds.

These bouquets are off to their new homes tomorrow to brighten up the week for some lucky folks and businesses! Thank you Lindsey’s Flower Farm & Garden and wanderingdeerfarmstand for adding some of your gorgeous blooms to these breath taking bouquets this week!

If you want to bring this seasonal magic straight into your home or workspace, let me know and I'll get the managers to work!
