Mattress School 101 🎓🛏️

Yes — you should rotate your mattress.

Rotating it regularly helps promote more even wear, especially in the areas where you sleep every night. Think head-to-foot, not flipping it upside down.

A little mattress maintenance can go a long way.

A little heads-up for our customers ♻️ As of October 1, 2026, the Connecticut mattress recycling fee is now $19.50 per unit.

The fee helps fund the Mattress Recycling Council’s statewide Bye Bye Mattress program, which collects, transports and recycles used mattresses and foundations — helping keep bulky materials out of Connecticut landfills and providing residents with no-cost recycling options.

Since the Connecticut program began in 2015, more than 2 million mattresses have been collected and over 32,000 tons of material have been recycled.

The $19.50 fee is state-required, applies to each mattress and foundation sold and is collected separately at checkout. Just keeping our local customers informed! ♻️

Mattress shopping can get overwhelming fast. Firmness levels, foam types, coils, reviews, “cooling claims,” and a whole lot of marketing language.
The good news? You don’t need to understand everything. Start with how you sleep, what feels comfortable to your body and what’s actually inside the mattress.
A few simple questions can narrow down things quickly and make the whole process feel a lot less complicated.
Save this for the next time you’re mattress shopping and remember the next mattress is the one that works best for you!
