This fire pit is headed to Liberty, MO, just waiting for the pick up. 🔥
Custom rectangle fire pit, and the details on this build are something else.
That ski cable footrest wrapping all the way around the pit? That's the kind of touch that turns a fire pit into a gathering spot. A little nod to the Rocky Mountain lifestyle — and it just works.
The base is finished in our Surfin' Black, which means once it settles into its new home outside, the weathering starts to do its thing. That's when the real character comes out — one-of-a-kind, made-by-Mother-Nature. No two ever end up looking exactly alike.
Quick tip for the new owner on dialing in your flame: open the key valve fully, then calibrate until the flame reaches about ½ to ⅔ of the log height. That's the sweet spot — beautiful presence without overdriving the system.
Zero maintenance from there. Just light it up and enjoy it, season after season.

🔥This is one of our round monolith bases paired with a custom Summit log set — and honestly, the shape of this one just does something to you. Clean. Sculptural. One of our best sellers for good reason.
A couple of things worth noticing:
That exposed mesh ring around the logs? We call it the "moat" — and that's where the lava rock goes. It fills in beautifully and gives everything that polished, finished look.
And once the fire pit is on site — give those pine needles just a little lift. Not much. Just enough to let the flame dance through them. That's the move that makes it look like something you'd find out in the Rocky Mountains, not something built in a shop.
Zero maintenance. No sealing, no refinishing. Just light it up and enjoy it.

There are patios up here in Summit County that just stop you in your tracks. And this one is the perfect example!

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible clients at Summit Sky Ranch in Silverthorne for sharing this view from their private residence. Five comfortable seats pulled close, the Colorado Rocky Mountains stretched out in front of them, and one of our hand-crafted steel fire pits at the center of it all. This is exactly the kind of gathering space we dream about when we're in the shop in Breckenridge.
Massive credit also goes to our friends at Neils Lunceford, Inc., whose flagstone patio work set the perfect stage. That craftsmanship deserves a fire feature worthy of it, and we were honored to be chosen.

Client Spotlight: Berlin Gardens 🌲
Look at this stunning setup from Berlin Gardens LLC in Millersburg, Ohio. And yes, that's one of our fire pits anchoring the scene!
If you haven't met them yet, Berlin Gardens is a family-owned outdoor furniture maker based in the heart of Amish country. They handcraft beautiful poly lumber pieces such as Adirondack chairs, dining sets, gliders, pergolas, and gazebos. Of course all made in the USA and built to live outdoors for a lifetime.
Their philosophy, "bring your life outdoors," is the same belief that's guided us at Breck Ironworks for more than 25 years. We craft our recycled-steel fire pit logs to look like timber pulled straight from the Rocky Mountains, because the outdoors deserves to be lived in, not just looked at.

Another one lit up last week. We just finished installing a custom rectangle fire pit log set down in Lone Tree, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. 🔥 We posted this one last month, but we want to point out this customization: This Park City, UT install had a real challenge — existing deck columns created an awkward "notch" that made a standard base completely out of the question. So we did what we do. Hopped on a FaceTime with the client, grabbed the sketch pad, and built something from scratch that fits the space perfectly.
