Zander was a staple at Market on Main, always working diligently alongside his dad. Please help support this family during this time if you’re able ❤️

Update: Zander was released late Friday for in-home health through WVU medicine. We travel for care that cannot be provided in home (which is a lot). I will share some of the injuries he incurred. Crushed pelvis (he now has titanium clear across his hips and titanium pelvis), his spine reattached to his pelvis with screws, ruptured, spleen, grade 4 rupture of his diaphragm, the muscle that controls breathing, ruptured spleen that had to be removed, broken ribs that punctured his lungs. I’m going to stop there as I could go on for a while. He is going to have a lot of appointments and traveling for the foreseeable future. Things have just started. This is going to go on for a while. I appreciate all the support we’ve received this first week. The funds allowed for me to be able to see my son, to take his sisters and brother out to maintain some normalcy, and to get Zander things he needed. I went through 4 tanks of gas this week. I typically fill my tank once a month. I thank all of you.

The first day of Spring is technically a few days after my birthday but it felt like today.

I’m slowly working on creating a mostly native garden space for the pollinators and birds and to give my grandma something to enjoy in our yard. Today, I was going to work on installing our metal border as many of the native plants spread easily but didn’t want to disturb this little thing. (At least my porch is prepped for powerwashing!)

At first I only saw its tail and terrified myself because it was beside a slug which I have some trauma with, then I saw a tiny leg and instant mood change!

I’m even more excited to make my frog hotel. Did you know WV has at least 5 native tree frogs species! 🧐
