Pen number 3. Compressed fire hose on a chrome fire fighters pen kit. This one gave me fits. The firs one blew out and I had to start over. The tube in the second broke loose 3 times and had to be re-glued. Several goats of CA glue and some polishing and it finally turned out nice. I hope the client likes it as much as I do.

Off to a good start this weekend. This is pen 1 of 5. Not sure I will get more done but we will see. This is a remake of the pentagon chief of police pen. The one I posted last had some issues so it had to be done again. This one turned out so much better on a gun metal diamond knurl Jr kit.

Actually finished 2 today. This one was supposed to have the hops blank on the bottom as well butt that was the blow out yesterday so I stole it to finish the Great Mane pen and chose leopard wood for this one. It is on a gold cigar twist. The top is my VFW post. I think it turned out great.

Well, here is the pen that had all the sire bubbles. Do you see any? I think I got them all patched up, smoothed out, and polished so you cannot see them. The pen is a Great Mane Logo on top and the hops in acrylic on the bottom. Great mane brewery grows som of their own hops and I made the bottom using hops they grew. The pen kit is a prism colored cigar twist pen.

I was in the shop today to do some prep work. I started a pen but it blew out. I started a second and it had a lot of air bubbled. So, I patched it up and left it to dry overnight. I may or may not get it finished tomorrow. If I do, I will post pictures. Otherwise, you can look for pics next weekend.

On our cruise in April, we got to tour the John Watling distillery in Nassau, Bahamas. I asked the tour guide for a piece of barrel wood they use to age their rum and he was kind enough to oblige. I made these pens for him. The bottom is the barrel wood and the top is a label cast of the John Watling logo. I have a little of the wood left and I made some hybrid blanks that I posted earlier. I will make pens for my wife and me from the wood I have left. Oh, and the rum is delicious.
