Here’s what happened and it’s a longish story-

I wanted to create a very organic aesthetic that represents our natural terrain for our clients traveling from Iowa.

The vision for the Capella design concept: guests will arrive to the fern covered forest floor, open the doors to a path of beach grass indicative to the sand dunes leading to pillars of moss covered branching. (We have so many natural abundant resources locally and foraging can be quite cathartic and a family activity.)

This week was also the c***r pressing event at the museum and a friend shared the location of a tree where we could gather apples (close to the Capella). While gathering apples, I found a branch that was way more than a branch to me- so I threw it in the truck. We went and pressed the apples at the annual event and my daughter won the raffle (which inspired her to enter the pie competition next year).

We used the pressed apples to create the custom cocktails and the branch from the tree to hang above their dining table all sourced from a tree near their ceremony. I loved this, it felt special, cool and meant to be.

I hope everyone has the opportunity to pour their heart into something to spread some love this week, because it feels good.
