When deciding on a name for this company, I knew it Must include the Phrase "Architectural Interiors"! It made perfect sense to me, but I soon realized many of you might be puzzled or confused by the distinction.
The short answer is: Architectural Interiors implies the willingness and ability to make Architectural & or Structural changes to an Interior Space to effect a dramatic and complete transformation of the Interior. We don't just come in and buy you New furniture, rugs and lamps & paint the room a different color; we transform the space structurally as well as cosmetically.

In short we can Open up Floors & Roofs to create more light in the interior space or expose a hidden element like a 2 story Brick Wall; Cut an opening in an existing floor and create 2 new ones in its' place; Build In Structural ceiling beams; rearrange stairwells & change the use of structural elements like hand hewn beams into Hand Rails!

Here are some Examples of the kinds of things we can do that Expand and Dramatize the concept of interior design & decoration.

WALL TILE: WHAT KIND? HOW MUCH? WHAT COLOR?
MAY 22, 2014 STEVEN WI******ER LEAVE A COMMENT EDIT
Well…….That’s a loaded question……the answer could take up too much space & require entirely too many words! So we’ll stick to what you may not know about wall tile: little subtle tips about what’s “In” Design-wise & what the designers are doing to make their work stand out in the crowd!

First: consider using more of what one normally expects. That is, if we’re talking about the back-splash above your kitchen counter tops, try running it ALL THE WAY UP THE WALL; that’s right……all the way up to the ceiling! This adds a little drama and is also reminiscent of the working kitchens in Europe, the Hampton’s and Newport, RI. Most people may not say a word…..they just know there is something unusual about your kitchen…..; it’s just NOT THE SAME! (ps. It helps to use a light, neutral color or pure white! NOT a hard & fast rule but a strong suggestion.)

And this my friends is the secret all designers are hoping for. They want to create something that no one can easily re-create; something with an air of mystery to it. Floor to ceiling Wall tile is one thing they do all the time!

Another thing you can do for that “Designer Kitchen” Look……is don’t use any tile at all for your back-splash; use another wall covering. But more about this in another POST.
