🍫🍓 Chocolate Cake with Fresh Strawberry Filling 🍓🍫

📋 Ingredients:
For the Chocolate Cake:
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
For the Strawberry Filling:
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
For the Chocolate Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
👩🍳 Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
2. In a big bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; mix well. Gradually stir in the boiling water (the batter will be thin).
3. Pour the batter evenly into the pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cakes cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pans to cool completely.
4. While the cakes cool, prepare your filling: mix strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a bowl and let sit for 30 minutes.
5. For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually mix in powdered sugar and cocoa powder, alternating with heavy cream until smooth. Stir in vanilla.
6. Once the cakes are cool, layer one on a plate, spread the strawberry filling, and then top with the second cake layer.
