LOCUS in MSU Texas McCoy College of Science, Mathematics, and Engineering. The installation greets students and faculty with a hyper realistic, dynamic, realtime sky mural embedded in the lobby wall. The monumental artwork includes dynamic cloud formations, weather, sunsets and moon phases, all at the current time of day and year. The clouds form and move past as the sun rises and sets in sync with the actual Texas sun.

LOCUS is now installed at the MSU Texas McCoy College of Science, Mathematics, and Engineering.

Occasionally, lightning strikes.

The 18 foot LED display is installed behind a half-mirrored glass curtain wall. This optically combines the celestial bodies of the sky simulation with the reflection of the actual space. The dynamic clouds, sun, moon and stars seem to be located inside the lobby space. Viewers can arrange their reflections to ‘touch’ the dynamic clouds and stars.
