Fall is the best time to update your window coverings. As the days get shorter, natural light becomes even more precious and scarce. The right window treatments help you maximize every bit of that sun and warmth during the day, and captures the coziness of a cool evening once the sun goes down.

The best window treatments change how a room feels with the touch of a button.

We recently installed Hunter Douglas motorized roller shades in this beautiful Boulder home. Watch the shades move to give the room just the right amount of light while keeping the mountain views in focus.

And yes—that’s a giant mule deer buck resting in the backyard. Even we weren’t expecting that finishing touch. 🦌

Design Tip Tuesday! Stationary side panels on either side of a window are one of the most elegant design moves you can make. They add height, softness, and a finished, intentional look without ever needing to be drawn closed. Think of them less as a window covering and more as a frame for the view outside. The result is dramatic, beautiful, and surprisingly simple.
