This shell is heavy. Solid. The kind that makes you stop and stare for a while before ever picking up a carving tool.
The whole time I worked on it, I kept seeing a torch. It has such unique features.
Imagine holding it by the small end. The spikes become flames. And little by little, the fire begins to burn its way through the shell.
Not destroying it.
Revealing something that was hidden inside all along.
A cross.
Sometimes God works the same way in our lives.
We pray for comfort, but He sends refinement.
We pray for easy, but He sends growth.
We pray for answers, and He starts burning away pride, fear, bitterness, and everything else that’s keeping us from seeing Him clearly.
The fire isn’t always punishment.
Sometimes it’s preparation.
And when the flames settle down, what remains is something more beautiful than what was there before.
Maybe that’s the lesson in this shell.
The cross wasn’t added at the end.
It was there in the vision from the beginning.
If this shell speaks to you it is for sale just send me a private message with code “burning shell” and I’d be glad to answer any questions you might have.
And as always, thanks for supporting my work.
