As we come out of the Memorial Day weekend, I hope you'll reflect on the real reason for the holiday and consider that for many there is no such thing as "Happy Memorial Day". This holiday isn’t supposed to be about celebration, or a 3-day weekend, or hitting the sales that stores offer, having fun at the beach, or the "official" start of summer.

Its true reason is for all of us to honor & remember the brave men and women in uniform who sacrificed their all and fell in the service of our nation --- over 1.3 million since our first war of the American Revolution.

For those friends & families who lost someone in our more recent and current conflicts, the pain & loss is still fresh and is why it's so difficult to hear someone say “Happy Memorial Day”.

While you enjoy this holiday, please reflect and remember that the freedom and happiness we enjoy was bought for us at a dear price by each one of them 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

SO HAPPY FOR THIS YOUNG MAN! My mini-me found out this weekend he earned a hard-won appointment to the United States Air Force Academy's Class of 2030, which is awarded to only 1,100 out of 10,000 applicants. We'll miss him terribly when he reports next month, but so proud of his decision to serve our nation in the military! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
