Here we go again! Set your clocks BACK one hour to return to 'Standard Time'. To safely set antique clocks back, don't turn the hands backwards. Instead, simply stop the clock and wait one hour or more, then, set the hands forward to the new correct time. Enjoy that extra hour's sleep. You'll give it back in March!

Yup! It's back to Standard Time again! Set your clocks BACK one hour. Remember the safest way to set antique clocks back the hour is to simply stop the clock's pendulum, wait an hour ++ and then set it forward to the new, correct time and re-start the clock. If you have a clock without a pendulum, like a ship's clock, just insert a key in the winding hole and leave it to stop the minute hand, thus stopping the clock. Wait the hour + and then remove the key and set the clock forward to the new, correct time. Do not move the minute hand backwards and do not move the hour hand... Happy Autumn!

Hello Friends! Here is an excellent video about the Palace of Westminster Clock Tower AKA Elizabeth Tower or 'Big Ben', and how the chiming clock runs. If you have a Westminster chiming clock, the mechanism is very similar but on a miniature scale compared to this amazing clock. The name, Big Ben, actually refers to the largest bell, the bell that counts the hours. Enjoy this video. Leave your comments!

Please join us for a rewarding volunteer experience helping The Ecology School with many spring chores; gardening, farming, preparing our new dormitory-yurt for students and other spring spruce-up projects around our Riverbend Farm campus in S**o.
