First off, we are SO SO sorry we weren’t able to open for the full day today! Boss Lady tried absolutely EVERYTHING she could to get us open this morning, and unfortunately, things just didn’t work out as planned. We hate the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your patience more than you know! 🫶🏻

BUT WE ARE OPEN NOW, and we would LOVE to see your beautiful faces!! 🛍️ Even if you just pop in to say hello or browse our new arrivals, we would love to see you! Let’s show our Boss Lady and all of our amazing vendors ALL the love and support we can today! 🥹💗 Every visit makes a difference, and we know it would mean so much to them! Small businesses thrive because of the communities that stand behind them, and we are SO thankful for ours!

I honestly don’t even know how to start this post…other than to say that I am absolutely heartbroken this morning. 💔

Let me be vulnerable for a minute….

For the second time this week we are having to close our doors for a portion of the day due to staffing issues. Today, due to unexpected illness and other scheduling conflicts, we will be closed from 10-2 but WE WILL BE OPEN FROM 2–6!

In nearly 5 years of owning Shady Oak I have never had to deal with closures like this. Not once. And now, twice in one week. To say I am devastated would honestly be an understatement.

I know to some people, a few hours of being closed might not seem like that big of a deal. But to me…it is. Every hour those doors are closed is an hour that my vendors aren’t making sales, my business isn’t making money and customers are potentially showing up to locked doors. And that absolutely makes me sick to my stomach.

I have poured so much of my heart, time, energy, and life into this little store over the last 5 years. I take so much pride in being dependable, in being there for our customers, and in doing everything I possibly can to keep things running smoothly. So having to make a post like this, especially for the second time in a week, is incredibly defeating.

I promise you, nobody is more frustrated or disappointed about this than I am. I have exhausted every possible option to get our doors open this morning, and unfortunately, sometimes no matter how hard you try, things just don’t work out the way you need them to.

We are already working on getting additional help trained so that hopefully we can avoid this happening again.

If you’ve made plans to shop with us today, I am so incredibly sorry for the inconvenience. And if you have a chance to stop by between 2-6 please do. Every single purchase, every visit and every bit of support means more than you could possibly know right now.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up for this little store that means so much to me. ❤️

We will be CLOSED tomorrow…Tuesday, October 13, due to an unexpected staffing conflict.

We hate missing a shopping day with you guys but don’t worry — this is just a one-day thing! ❤️

Well, we gave it a shot! 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

When Buffalo transitioned to a 4 day school week we decided to give Monday shopping a try! We figured an extra day off school might mean an extra day for a little retail therapy. 🛍️

We’ve been testing it out since August and while we love giving y’all extra opportunities to shop…the numbers have spoken! 😂

Effective immediately we will no longer be open on Mondays, starting TOMORROW, October 12!

Sometimes you try something new, see how it goes and adjust accordingly. That’s just part of running a small business! 🫶🏼

Don’t worry, though! We’re still here with all your favorite vendors, cute finds, and plenty of shopping opportunities Tuesday through Saturday! 🛍️💕

Tuesday–Friday: 10–6

Apparently Mother Nature missed the memo that it’s OCTOBER because she’s giving us one more HOT Saturday! 🥵😂 And judging by next weekend’s forecast…this might just be our last taste of summer!
