A quiet transformation.

One of my favorite projects is still one of the smallest. In 2006, I transformed an inaccessible side yard into a pocket garden by opening the living room with new French doors and extending it outdoors with a wood deck. Vintage 1964 Pierre Paulin F300 fiberglass chairs found a new home here, while potted greenery helped create the relaxed feel of a rooftop garden. It’s a reminder that even the most overlooked spaces can become the ones you enjoy the most.

The Lavintador House was never built.

What began as a fascination with the triangular form evolved into a vision for a small modern home on an unlikely triangular lot in Louisville, Kentucky. Inspired by the shape of the Filipino firecracker I knew as a child, Lavintador became my first architectural design and the seed of a larger dream—to create a community of thoughtful modern homes rooted in simplicity, efficiency, and good design.

Life had other plans. The project was set aside, and the house remained on paper.

Yet the idea never left.

Over the years, I found myself returning to the same geometry, the same silhouettes, and the same sense of possibility. The triangular form quietly appeared in custom furnishings, architectural details, and eventually in the furniture collection I began designing for my own brand. It wasn’t until much later that I realized these pieces were, in many ways, always meant for the Lavintador House.

Looking back, I see that Lavintador was never simply a house. It became a lens through which I explored design across disciplines—interiors, architecture, furniture, and objects. Though the structure itself was never realized, its influence continues to shape my work today.

This AI film, created by my amazing team in Manila, is a glimpse into that journey, and the beginning of a new chapter that has been many years in the making.
