Today we’re giving a big shoutout to all the hardworking farmers who keep this country running!

The early mornings, late nights, unpredictable weather, broken equipment, and never-ending to-do lists. Farming isn’t just a job, it’s a way of life! ❤️

Around here, we know a thing or two about the hard work and dedication that goes into farming. And let’s face it, without farmers, the rest of us would be pretty darn hungry! 🤣

So today, thank a farmer! Better yet, thank one EVERY day! 🌽🚜

Mom and I got to spend yesterday with my Grandma Betty (Dad’s mom) at the Schuyler Museum’s Quilt Turning, and I’m so glad we went! 🧵❤️

There are—and have been—so many incredibly talented ladies in our community, and it was really neat getting to see some of their work and the history behind each quilt.

But there was one quilt that especially caught my attention.

It was put together by Delores Riek in 1977, with ladies from the community each hand stitching their name onto a block along with where they were from. Nearly 50 years later, a lot of those ladies have since passed, which made it even more special to sit there and recognize so many names.

There were two of my great-aunts, a neighbor’s mom, and several other names of ladies I’ve heard my whole life.

But then I found the best one. ❤️

My Grandma Mary (Mom’s mom).

She passed away 20 years ago this September, so seeing her name, stitched by her own hand into a quilt made in 1977, was pretty darn special.

It’s funny how something as simple as a name stitched onto a piece of fabric can mean so much all these years later.

Between everything going on, we just didn’t have time to whip up any sweet treats for this weekend. So unfortunately, no baked goodies at PK today! 😭
