It has been a quiet year on the gram for us. Between going back to work full-time and trying to be the best wife and mom that I can be, it feels like there has been much less time to focus on flowers. We still planted back in the spring and have enjoyed harvesting mostly for ourselves. The weddings that we have gotten to be a part of this year bring me back to my love of flowers and creating 💛

Tis the season for bonfires and s’mores!

These next few weekends we’ll be hosting friends and family around this fire pit. I love that even when flowers aren’t in bloom, our space is still used as a place to gather and enjoy the sweet people around us! 💛

In the past I’ve had several brides-to-be reach out asking me to do their wedding flowers. To be completely honest, I’ve always said no because I was fearful of not fulfilling a bride’s expectations on her wedding day. (Sadly, the fear of failure has kept me from attempting so many things in my life.) This year, I chose to finally say yes to a bride and I absolutely loved it! Not only did I get to make pretty things for a pretty day, but I also got to be a part of the months following up to the wedding. As it turns out, sitting down with the bride to dream of what her flowers could be, to check in months later to make sure all is well and things are on track, and then to talk with her again in the days leading up to her wedding… we’ll that’s the part that fills my tank! So, to all of my brides-to-be out there- I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THE HONOR of making all of your flower dreams come true on your big day!!

And just like that, another season has passed. Here’s what I learned:

1. It’s hard to have consistency when you have a newborn. There were times this season that I was barely able to do anything with my flowers, and there were other times that it felt like we had flower events non-stop. I had to learn to have Grace for myself. All the things don’t have to get done… Does anyone else struggle with this?

2. Private workshops are the way to go!! Regardless of the group that gathers, I love teaching! But from my experience, when the group is already connected through deep rooted friendship, the workshop experience is even better!

3. Wedding Florals are actually fun! I agreed to do my first full wedding this year and I had a blast!! Why am I just now realizing this?!

Every year we learn a little more, and that allows us to narrow our focus for the following year. Here’s to always learning!

PRIVATE WORKSHOPS!!

Last weekend we had the privilege of hosting a private flower arranging workshop for a bride-to-be along with her closest ladies as part of her Bachelorette Weekend!
