Early 20th Century French Walnut Empire Style Side Table



Found in the South of France, this Early 20th Century French Walnut Empire Style Side Table dates back to the early 1900’s. The piece features a round black marble top with grey accents that rest on three turned round column legs. Each of the legs exhibit upper and lower brass ormolu style rings which add a touch of elegance to the table and is typical of the grand French Empire style. The table is finsihed at the bottom with a concave sided triangler base. The marble shows one minor flaw as shown in photos which is typical for its age and does not detract from its beauty and top rest freely on the table apron. This Early 20th Century French Walnut Empire Style Side Table with its warm aged patina will make a statement when placed in all interior styles.

Found in the South of France, this 19th Century French Burled Walnut and Marble Top Chest of Drawers or Commode dates back to the late 1800’s. The piece features and inset marble top showcasing white with gray veining through the natural stone. The top rest above four burled walnut finish drawers with each retaining pulls, locks and keyhole escutcheon plates. No keys are available. The burled walnut finish showcases intricate grain patterns and warm tones, exuding sophistication and natural beauty. This Mid 20th Century Brutalist/Impressionist Bull Sculpture dates back to 1966. The piece is made of Durastone which is a plaster composite to simulate heavy metal and hand-painted in a faux-bronze finish. The bull sculpture is hallmarked D Austin Pro 1966 on the backside of the base. This 1966 Austin Productions statue of a Bull is one of their more rare animal statues. Found in the South of France, this 20th Century French Wood and Metal Model House dates back to the early 1900’s. The piece features a worn faux stucco exterior, windows with dark green shutters, four chimneys and a black metal roof. One portion of the back has been left without a roof and the worn stucco seems to be intentional. The house rest on a dark metal stand for display purposes and can easily be removed. This 19th Century Monks Oil on Canvas Painting dates back to the 1800’s. The art dpects two monks or friars in a rustic setting, with one reading from a book. The piece is artist signed in the lower left corner and is illegible. Presented as found, the art shows no rips or tears and is housed in an antique rustic gold frame. The frame is stamped on the back “Nergaards Rammefabrik, Aalborg.”, which at one time was a frame factory located in the North Jutland region of Denmark. Found in the South of France, this 20th Century French Walnut Swivel Top Table dates back to the early 1900’s and was crafted in the Art Deco Style. The piece features a rectangular top which pivots to reveal an interior storage compartment that combines formal elegance and functionality. The underside exhibits a green felt for ease of movement. The table top rest on two curved inverted U-shaped legs connected by a brass metal crosspiece which is a characteristic detail of modernist furniture of the time.
