✨ MEET THE VENDOR MONDAY ✨
Some families pass down heirlooms. Others pass down the love of the hunt. ❤️
Today, meet Lea Ann Brumfield and her aunt, Anna Kenady, the duo behind Barkley June at 57 Main Antiques!
Treasure hunting is truly a family tradition for these two. Lea Ann and Anna grew up shopping for one-of-a-kind finds with Lea Ann’s mother, who kept a list of things family members were searching for—and took great joy in finding those special pieces to give as gifts. Aunt Anna and her sister, Reita, have also spent their lives collecting family heirlooms and treasures, making the love of antiques a true family tradition.
And they definitely know how to spot a treasure!
One of their favorite finds started with a $5 thrift-store jewelry box Lea Ann bought for her daughter, Lanie. After researching the beautiful velvet-lined box, they discovered it was worth $285! Now THAT is a treasure-hunting story. 😉
Their booth is filled with a mix of vintage finds and handcrafted pieces, with something new and unexpected around every corner.
And some of the treasures are especially meaningful. Lea Ann has a lifetime collection of Madame Alexander dolls gifted by her mother—at least one every Christmas throughout her life. Anna has a beautiful Jewel Tea collection and, just for fun, collects all things turtles. 🐢
Right now, they’re especially excited about the Pyrex bowls and casserole dishes they recently acquired because they bring back memories of their mothers, grandmothers, and aunts serving up mouth-watering potluck dishes at family gatherings.
Their hope is simple: that something in Barkley June makes you smile or reminds you of a happy memory.
💛 We think that’s a pretty wonderful reason to go treasure hunting.
