I made this panel as a duplicate to a commission from earlier this year. I fell so deeply in love with everything about it. In the last-minute chaos before the show I grabbed it to display.
At the end of the day a lovely couple I had seen quietly browsing earlier locked eyes with me, pointed to it with that glimmer in their eye & smiles exchanged, it came time for me to let it go.
We chatted when I lovingly packed it up, and in a funny string of idle conversation discovered they live 1/2 mile up the road from me. ✨
I’m making another one this week to keep in my space for personal mental health & morale improvement…. until the next time …
some cycles are clearly worth repeating 💕

A few votives from a batch I made months ago and loved enough to keep & enjoy. With a new & improved website completed (thanks !), I’ve been photographing pieces I had stashed away before last month’s medical chaos with Nate. He’s getting better & I’m back to work, ready to make more of all the things that bring me joy ⭐️

Perhaps my favorite project this year. And finally the best natural lighting photoshoot day I’ve been patiently waiting for.
These two large sidelight panels will be hung in the clients entryway, floating in the window frame. Wrapped in 1/4 foil & framed in 1/2” zinc, the interior is not reinforced as the design was carefully crafted to avoid that. I handmade the hanging rings to ensure proper weight support.

Since my departure this year from intentional content creation In the studio workflow, I feel my work is rejuvenated. More personal and authentic. I’m so grateful for this incredibly satisfying “job” and those that are a part of it, my assistants and my clients and you too. ✨

Last week I enjoyed a rare opportunity to create a panel outside of the endless commission queue.
It’s been quite some time now that I’ve been feeling imbalanced within my open creative time & client commissions. I LOVE the custom projects I’m doing, but it’s a completely different workflow management - and recently frequently interrupted with life distractions outside my little glassStudio in the forest.
It was a lovely little reminder to myself (again) that I need to figure out how to access that element MORE. & Let’s see how that goes. 🫠

As an LA native helpless & heartsick from afar, this unimaginable tragedy is excruciating & utterly beyond comprehension.
The magnitude is crushing for so many.
Memories, history, lifetimes, eviscerated.
There are no proper adjectives to describe it all.
My heart is with my friends, my family, my city.
I’ll see you in a few weeks 💔

There are those days where it’s hard to find the space to pretend like it’s just like any other day. Where my mind can’t escape how fragile circumstance can be.
Today, and every day, can be a terrible & life changing day for so many people. And here I am, in my magical forest bubble, playing with glass& chickens &dogs &bunnies &deer &cougars, it’s eternally surreal.

In a few days, it will be the anniversary of the Nakia fire. This morning, as I stand in this enchanted bubbleLand, I remember what it was like to stand here after cramming dogs & chickens & Layla into my car just before evacuating. .. standing here and imagining it all gone in an instant.

So this morning, in this misty crisp calm, as the dogs run around and the chickens are cackling and the birds are singing and the frogs are groaning and the donkey is screaming in the distance … my heart is settled in melancholy.

So instead of the normal glassy post I tried to muster up today, this is what happened.
