After a full active life of raising children and then raising sheep, processing and utilizing their wool in the form of comforters and hand-spun yarn on our small farm, retirement can really leave a considerable amount of available time on one’s hands. So, I began sewing for fun… making throw rugs to put some of my fabric remnants to use. I love the bright colors that can pop up anywhere: in the home on the floor, table top, back of chairs, in the camper, back seat of car for puppies, etc., car trunk ……. When my doctor asked me how I was keeping busy, I showed her some of my work. She asked me if I would make her a couple for her kitchen, so I did. As I was working on these, some of my friends commented that I should be making these available for sale to others. That was the start of J Leone Designs offering my Hand Made in America, Designer Throw Rugs, Table Toppers and Place-mats.
