01/30/2026
Like many small businesses, we want to acknowledge the nationwide general strike on Friday, 1/30, 2026 in protest of ICE. We recognize how significant this collective action is and stand in solidarity with the community.
gather here will be open. This happens to be one of our Craft for Camberville open-sew events and this annual call to create for our community is one of the things that has made a tangible difference for many.
In our nearly 15 years of existence, we hope it’s crystal clear that we are invested in the community and continuing to do the work to create a more just and equitable world. Or as we recently told another business owner, “we’ve been showing up and taking no s**t since 2011.”
We encourage folks that are out and about visiting their local small businesses to use cash. As we have shared in the past: credit card fees help big corporations fund the institutions responsible for the persistent horrors. Many small businesses lost revenue due to the snowstorm (as did we) and even now, the piles of snow blocking streets and hazardous sidewalk conditions (I’m not going to name names but wow, there are some spots on Cambridge Street that need attention landlords). Many of these small businesses are already doing so much for their community and cannot carry the financial burden of shutting down. They need your support more than ever.
If you’ve been by at any point in January you also know that restocking yarn has taken longer than ever before due to supply chain issues, holiday breaks, shipping delays, and the closures of many brands we once carried. We finally received Malabrigo and Manos as well as Juniper Moon Farm. The wall of Retrosaria yarn is full. And the stars aligned and we have Blue Sky Fibers cotton yarn available as of today (it’s been out of stock since mid-December). Squish some yarn and imagine what it might become.
Come sew with us on Friday. Sit on the couch and make 5calls. You belong here. LUCE Immigrant Justice Network of MA is our February recipient.
