Thrilled to share this fit! From ‘s newest book - .bee.jay spent the last couple of weeks stitching the Chore Jacket (oilcloth), Shirt (linen), and Drawstring Trousers (Brussels Washer). stitched the Kit Bag (linen/cotton blend). Monochromatic fits are 🔥 and blending these different textures makes our heart sing. Copies of the Merchant and Mills WORKWEAR book won’t hit our shelves until the end of May (per the US distributor) but it will be here soon! What will you make? (Thanks to Izzy for prepping the Kit Bag and for cutting out the Chore Coat which was pristine and then Vee mangled it during construction adding to its “workwear” appeal.)

Happy International Quilt Day to all that celebrate. Here are some of our favorite quilts we have had the honor of displaying in . Made by team members, CMQG members, and local artists. Note many are political because everything is political. Even the ones you think aren’t probably are because creating these quilts with our hands when there are forces constantly demanding our attention and our energy is a decision about the type of world we want to live in. The final photo is a quilt made by an 11 year old in one of our summer camps. These camps are made available to folks through the generous fundraising efforts of the . Again, prioritizing art and craft. Pay people to teach. Providing space to create.

Hey, so there’s a lot of snowmageddon chatter on the airwaves and the City of Cambridge announced it will be closed on Monday, 2/23/26 (like nothing but snow removal is gonna happen) so we decided to be closed, too. Thanks to everyone who came by and wished us a happy 15th birthday over the weekend. We are extending the sale for one more day since we’ll be losing revenue due to the impending snow. Hope y’all stay safe and warm. Ciara and Lisa will be online during the day answering emails… Vee will be prepping class launch which will happen on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Regardless of the weather.

Like many small businesses, we want to acknowledge the nationwide general strike on Friday, 1/30, 2026 in protest of ICE. We recognize how significant this collective action is and stand in solidarity with the community.

gather here will be open. This happens to be one of our Craft for Camberville open-sew events and this annual call to create for our community is one of the things that has made a tangible difference for many.

In our nearly 15 years of existence, we hope it’s crystal clear that we are invested in the community and continuing to do the work to create a more just and equitable world. Or as we recently told another business owner, “we’ve been showing up and taking no s**t since 2011.”

We encourage folks that are out and about visiting their local small businesses to use cash. As we have shared in the past: credit card fees help big corporations fund the institutions responsible for the persistent horrors. Many small businesses lost revenue due to the snowstorm (as did we) and even now, the piles of snow blocking streets and hazardous sidewalk conditions (I’m not going to name names but wow, there are some spots on Cambridge Street that need attention landlords). Many of these small businesses are already doing so much for their community and cannot carry the financial burden of shutting down. They need your support more than ever.

If you’ve been by at any point in January you also know that restocking yarn has taken longer than ever before due to supply chain issues, holiday breaks, shipping delays, and the closures of many brands we once carried. We finally received Malabrigo and Manos as well as Juniper Moon Farm. The wall of Retrosaria yarn is full. And the stars aligned and we have Blue Sky Fibers cotton yarn available as of today (it’s been out of stock since mid-December). Squish some yarn and imagine what it might become.

Come sew with us on Friday. Sit on the couch and make 5calls. You belong here. LUCE Immigrant Justice Network of MA is our February recipient.
