🕯️ For the first time in its 15-year history, Witty Wicks Candles ran out of wax.

The local company with a Camillus storefront in Township 5, could barely keep up with orders for its “I Am Jane Doe” candle that staff created last weekend in response to the Cornell r**e case. The victim has been identified only as Jane Doe.

The candle first went on sale last Friday with proceeds benefitting Vera House, a Syracuse agency which serves sexual and domestic abuse victims. They sold 298 candles in the first 24 hours and have sold more than 150 online to customers all over the country.

Witty Wicks sold 298 “I Am Jane Doe” candles in 24 hours—and more than 150 online. The Camillus company ran out of wax for the first time in its 15-year history and has donated $7,356 to Vera House.
