🔥 BALOR the BALROG

If you know me, you know LotR is about 2/5ths of my entire personality, so I absolutely HAD to throw my hat in the ring to test this fantastic pattern. Entwined Earth Fibre Arts did SUCH a good job with this design, I’m still in aw at this result. I seriously can’t wait to see what other LotR designs she has up her sleeves! HIGHLY recommend this one!

🍁🍂 A very happy Autumn and a very happy October 1 to all! I feel my soul coming alive for the best time of the year — spooky season 🖤

I was so honored to test mini Momo for Sweet Little Buddies . This pattern is innovative, clever and oh so cute! I adore seeing designers that are unique and creative and this pattern scratched an itch. I HAD to start with one that had a mushroom cap emulating my new logo. Now to make a million more.

🌿 Scenes from a Comic Con — what little cutie caught your eye first??

My Comic Con vlog is now live over on YT and I share all the details and results. It was…an interesting time haha. Honestly, it’s put me into a bit of a mental slump (watch to see what happened) but I have some very big plans brewing. Just need to figure some things out!

This was also the unveiling of my most complex booth design yet and I’m still not over it 🥹 It took me over 3 hours to set up (I do events by myself) but I think it was soooo worth it for the result!

My ADHD means I always have a lot of half-used yarn skeins piling up while I continue to reach for new unopened skeins rather than deal with finding the scraps. I needed a solution that would work for my brain! So I was incredibly grateful that Caydo reached out and offered to gift me their new A1 Pro Max Electric Yarn Winder to try out because it was like a helping hand here to save me before I am buried under a pile of partial skeins, lost forever. I was SO excited to test it out! In my next video I’ll get into more of the nitty gritty, but suffice to say this yarn winder FAR exceeds my expectations and is leaps and bounds better than any I have used in the past.

It is VERY easy to put together with literally just one screw needed (and they provide the screwdriver, SO NICE!) It’s such a sturdy machine that you do not even need to clamp it to the table at all. I showed how the clamp works in this video, but, ultimately, when I was using the winder I did not use the clamp and it ran like a dream with no issues or wobble. Plus the cakes it produces?? STUNNING. Truly the most beautiful cakes I’ve seen from a yarn winder (and I’ve tried several!) If YOU want to try out this new yarn winder, I’d be so honored if you would use my link. 🏹 Quiver the Kitken & a story

Me: “I want to make this kitty for you, help me choose the colors.”

Making things for my kiddo will never lose its magic. And as he ages, his color choices become more complex and more interesting. I still guide him, teaching him complementary colors, offering him options. It’s become a fun activity for us to gaze at my yarn collection and dream of what new things mama can cook up. I did draw the line at red eyes for this one, though 🤣

Cheers to we, the makers, who bring magic into an increasingly dark world. I will always marvel at what we can create from a hook and some yarn.
