Buckle up SONOS Users and Wannabes - A successor to Beam Gen 2 is definitely en route. First, note the date of June 17, 2026 Second, the location is Mexico.
Product manuals are required as part of the certification documentation. Please kick in with some inspired responses.
There is a meaningful S59/Gambit acoustic breakthrough, and this time the evidence is much stronger than FCC inference.
A 23-page S59 user guide is publicly accessible in Mexican certification records. The document was captured from a Sonos staging URL on June 17, 2026, and Mexico’s NYCE system is an accredited product-certification body; product manuals are part of the certification documentation process.
The guide states that S59 is a Dolby Atmos 7.1.2 compact soundbar with nine speakers — four more than Beam.
More importantly, the specifications identify the actual driver layout: nine Class-D amplifiers, five tweeters and four low-profile woofers. The five tweeters consist of one forward-facing center tweeter, two side-firing horn tweeters, and two upward-firing tweeters mounted in directional horns that reflect Dolby Atmos sound off the ceiling.
The dialogue story is also substantial: the guide explicitly lists AI Speech Enhancement with four selectable levels, using AI to detect human voices.
There is a new installer-relevant feature too. Sonos recommends 4 inches of clearance above S59 so the physical height channels can fire toward the ceiling. If there is less clearance, the user can select a simulated overhead mode instead.
The documented dimensions are 29.53 inches wide × 2.48 inches high × 4.1 inches deep, weighing 2.88 kg / about 6.35 lb.
The one notable absence is Sound Motion. The guide specifically calls the bass drivers “four low-profile woofers” and does not identify a Sound Motion transducer. I would therefore classify Sound Motion as not supported by this documentation rather than simply unknown.
So the evidence now supports a much stronger conclusion: S59 is a genuine acoustic redesign, not merely a Beam with newer radios. True physical height channels, nine-driver architecture and four-level AI Speech Enhancement are exactly the kinds of substantive
changes we were looking for.
