I’ve never believed a beautiful home has to choose just one style. The most interesting rooms are a great American melting pot—cut crystal beside American folk pieces, old French books with romantic porcelain, mother-of-pearl, and a little holiday sparkle.

If it has beauty, history, and a story, it belongs. ✨

✨ SOMETHING FUN SUNDAY — AUCTION TWO ✨

Today only, this beautiful antique French gilt display plinth with its original red velvet top is being offered at auction!

Rich antique velvet and a molded gilt base give this piece unmistakable Old World romance. It would make an exquisite foundation for a treasured book, tea caddy, religious object, portrait, piece of opaline, or another favorite decorative treasure.

It measures approximately 9½ inches long × 6½ inches deep × 2 inches tall.

The velvet shows age-related wear to the pile and some loose threads. There are scattered losses to the gilt and gesso around the edges and corners, giving the plinth its wonderfully timeworn character. Please carefully review all photographs for its complete condition.

✨ OPENING BID: $225 ✨

BIDDING IS OPEN NOW and ends tonight, Sunday, October 18, at 8:30 p.m. Central Time.

✨ SOMETHING FUN SUNDAY — AUCTION ONE ✨

Today only, this magnificent large antique French gilt display plinth is being offered at auction!

Grand in both size and presence, this beautifully timeworn European piece creates an extraordinary foundation for antique books, religious treasures, portraits, opaline, silver, or an entire collection of smaller curiosities. It is the kind of piece that instantly gives a display height, importance, and unmistakable Old World character.

Measuring approximately 16 inches long × 6½ inches deep × 4 inches tall, it features an ornate shaped border, decorative molding, and a geometric gilt top.

Please note that this antique plinth has noticeable losses to the gilt, gesso, and decorative molding, including a larger loss along the lower edge. There is no crack. Please carefully review all photographs for its complete condition.
