We LOVE when customers send us pictures of our pieces out in the wild! š„¹ Thereās something so special about seeing something we made actually living in your home and knowing the story behind the wood is now part of your familyās story too.
These pieces were made from a sentimental pecan tree that our customer used to pick pecans from as a child at her grandparentsā home. ā¤ļø
The tree eventually had to be removed, but there was NO WAY we were going to let that wood go to waste!
The commissioned piece was the shelf, and I added a little something extra that I absolutely love. I secretly engraved something on the back of the shelf that you wouldnāt see unless someone pointed it out. Itās a little nod to those childhood memories of picking pecans from that very tree. š„¹
But there was still a good amount of lumber left overāenough to make another pretty substantial piece. Some of the wood was already starting to get p***y, so I knew if we didnāt use it soon, it might not be usable at all.
So I designed the sign as a complete surprise for the customer. š® I wanted to make sure as much of that tree as possible was salvaged and given a new life instead of ending up as firewood or simply being lost to time.
And now, instead of just having memories of that tree, their family will have actual pieces of it to keep and pass down for generations. ā¤ļø
