Clearance table is out, all weekend.

It's the odds and ends. Things we loved that never quite found their person, the last one of something we're not reordering, the lonely single of a set. All marked down, all sitting under that very serious hand-drawn sign.

The part worth reading twice, because Labor Day makes it confusing:
Los Gatos and Capitola are open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Los Altos is open Saturday and Sunday, closed Monday for the holiday.

Come dig. Once it's gone it's gone, which is sort of the point 💙

Mine was six. I counted, and two of them were the exact same shampoo.

Here's the part people don't expect about refilling: you don't need a special jar. Bring the half empty bottle that's already under your sink. We weigh it, fill it, weigh it again, and you pay for what went in. About four minutes, and you can knock it out while you're already out running errands.

No new container. No starting over. Just the one you've already got.

Insider tip: buy the cup in a color you can spot from across a field.

The Klean Kanteen Kids Cup is 10oz, stainless, and the straw lid goes in the dishwasher… which is the actual reason it stays in rotation instead of dying at the bottom of a backpack. Coral is the one that keeps walking back out the door.

Ever flipped your deodorant over and read the label?

Mine used to end with one word. Fragrance. That's it. Turns out that word is protected as a trade secret, so nothing inside it has to be named.

We're not trying to scare anyone off their deodorant. We just think you should get to know what goes on your body every morning and then decide for yourself.

Human Essentials lists everything. Zinc ricinoleate for odor, tapioca starch for moisture, essential oils for the scent (four of them, including mountain pine + eucalyptus). No aluminum, no baking soda, no parabens.

The tube is paper. When you're done you can compost it or bury it in the yard and it's gone in under a year. One stick lasts about six weeks.

The lunchbox negotiations has officially started.

Ours goes like this every year: he wants the mushroom tote, she wants the checkerboard one, and nobody wants the containers we already own.

So we restocked. Fluf lunch bags in the print every kid apparently has a strong opinion about, the little green snack containers that actually stack instead of avalanching out of the cabinet, and the Stay Funky tote for the one who has decided backpacks are over.

This doesn't have to be a whole project. One bag that makes it to June is plenty.

Come let them pick ☺️

11am in Los Altos sounds like this.

The door going all morning. Someone asking where the shampoo bars live. A four year old very seriously explaining the soap shelf to her mom, touching every single bar (that's allowed, by the way).

It's not quiet in here. It was never supposed to be.
