Vacation Recap Time! 🥾
But first: Thank you to all my “Year in Flowers” members who allowed me to postpone / reschedule your June bouquets. 💕

This vacation was extra special because the first portion was in California, celebrating my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary 💗 It was a wonderful time with my extended family exploring LA (photo 1) and also going to the Channel Islands National Park (2), Sequoia National Park (3), and King’s Canyon National Park (4).

After that my husband and I split off from the group to tackle more of our National Park bucket list 😁 we were able to see Great Basin with some of the oldest trees in the world (5) and snow! (6) Then over to Utah where we hiked Capitol Reef (photo 7), Arches (8), and Canyonlands (9).

I’ll share more later in the week!

FLOWER. FACT. FRIDAY ⛈️
That was quite the downpour this morning! I hope your homes, cars, and gardens survived unscathed!

One fact that every gardener knows: plants love rain. 🌧️
But what many don’t know: Why _is_ rain is better for plants than tap water?

The primary reason is that it carries extra nitrogen from the atmosphere in such a way that plants can easily absorb the nitrogen (which is one of the key nutrients that plants need to thrive).

Rain water is also slightly acidic and doesn’t contain any of the treatment chemicals that our tap water does, making it perfect for plants. Almost like Someone designed it for them! 😉

We were on vacation the first couple weeks of June (pictures coming soon!) and man it’s good to be back!!

While we were gone, the flowers shifted from spring to summer and I am loving the new varieties that are blooming & the smell of basil in the air.

I may be a little biased but Emflowered | Flower Farm Planning & Management is a game changer for any flower farmer.

If you’re a flower farmer (or gardener), what other features would you look for in a flower software?

Flower Delivery Day (throwback edition) I rarely showcase my Friday deliveries but this was one of my favorites and deserves a spot in the feed… What can I say, I’m a sucker for garden roses!

I must confess that marketing is one of my least favorite parts of running a small business but the .app content tool has made it SO MUCH EASIER!! I can plan out a week or even a month of posts all at once so that during the week I can focus on all my “farm chores” without the mental load of creating content. Game changer.

FLOWER FACT FRIDAY
I’ve been posting this week about the flower farm software I’m building so, to stay semi-on theme… What do software and flower farming have in common? BUGS!

One handy trick when dealing with literal bugs is to knock them into a cup or bucket that has a bit of dawn dish soap in it. The soap makes it so that they can’t escape and fly away so you can collect them in the cup and dispose of them away from the garden.

Crop planning is one of the most important but also one of the most procrastinated / dreaded parts of flower farming and I’m thrilled to say that the .app crop planning tool makes the process a breeze! (And it also makes it easy to adjust the plan when life inevitably gets in the way 😅)
