I just delivered this completed restoration of a slant front desk from the early 1900s. I made a custom brass escutcheon and repaired all the damaged drawers. Also completely removed the old finish and replaced the finish. It has grain filler and shellac. Then several coat of Sutherland & Welles Tung Oil Wiping Varnish.
