An atmospheric coastal oil painting signed and dated 1904, depicting a quiet rocky shoreline with anchored sailboats and a beached dory. Richly painted in soft, moody tones with beautiful age-related craquelure and housed in an antique gilt frame. The painting bears the signature “N. M. Dyer” and is dated 1904. An ownership inscription on the reverse references Rev. T.J. McCabe and the year 1931, though the complete provenance of the piece is unknown.
