I’m so happy to finally be in our new house in We’ve had a relaxing time visiting with our family in New Haven and our other little family came to see us in Woodbury last night where we had a good visit. No airports, no luggage, no 16 hour drives were needed. What a relief to finally be here in my own house with a new place to explore and my sweet family close by.

I wasn’t thinking when I asked to pose with these feathers I was selling to benefit a local animal rescue group. He got paid a lot of money to do things like that! He was happy to do it though. He said he’d do anything for the animals. The feathers were donated by from her Guinea fowl. It was a moment in time. Heartbroken.

I’ve been waiting forever to get permission to post the most exciting news! My daughter Jane and her husband Carlos are expecting a baby boy due December 1st. He will be a baby brother for their daughters Edie and Luisa. Then, nine days later my daughter Katherine and her husband Mike are expecting a baby girl! She will be a baby sister for her brother Thomas. I’m going to have my hands full! Now the move to Connecticut makes more sense than ever even though we planned it long before we knew about these babies. Steve and I are out of our gourds with excitement! December is going to be a busy month!

Here are some pictures of my little in New Haven. My daughter and my son-in-law are living there now with baby Thomas while they look for a house to buy. Steve and I bought a house that we’re soon moving into. Leaving Cashiers is so hard but it also just came to me that I’ll never live in this house again! I barely got it together before it was time to leave. On to the next adventure! PS In my typical fashion, many of the pieces here were along with pieces and some things of my mother’s. There’s even a find from I wonder if you can spot it. It’s almost invisible! (That’s a hint!)

This picture was taken long ago when we had to have film developed. It’s a mannequin for an artist to use as a model. I think it’s but I’m not sure. It sat in the shop window of my friend and He is an expert in French toys and especially dolls and s at the Such wonderful things in his shop! In retrospect I wish I had purchased this from my friend because I’ve not seen one as fine since. She lives in my memory and now I’ve found her picture again.
