Bring these ceramic trays outdoors, to a potluck, or straight to your dining table.
I’ve used my tray all summer and can’t wait to fill it with pumpkin loaf and muffins for fall gatherings.
This handmade pottery serving tray blends style and function. Made from durable, food-safe stoneware, it’s perfect for serving appetizers, entrées, sides, or desserts. Dishwasher safe and oven-friendly, it helps keep foods warm or cold—ideal for buffets, potlucks, and family gatherings.

How Can I Miss You If You Never Go Away?
The Joy of Leaving
We love to travel. There is a special excitement in packing our bags, grabbing our passports, kissing the dog goodbye, promising we’ll be home soon, and heading off on another adventure.

The Sweetness of Returning Home
As I get older, coming home after a trip feels sweeter. Not the five loads of laundry, the pile of mail, or the grocery shopping needed to refill the fridge—but the quiet pleasure of settling back into our comfortable chairs, catching up on news from family and friends, and reconnecting with the home we have made.

What Brings Us Joy
Throughout our adult lives, we have collected art made by friends and created pieces of our own. When I look around our home, I feel the memories, relationships, and connections held in each piece.

When my granddaughter was downsizing, she had to make difficult choices. She told me she held each item in her hand and asked, “Does this bring me joy?”

I started asking the same question about the things in my own home. Now we share a running joke: make sure you bring me joy—or you’ll get hoicked.

Seeing Home with Fresh Eyes
Sometimes we need to step away from our center so we can appreciate it when we return. Distance helps us see our surroundings with fresh eyes and decide how we want to feel among the possessions we choose to keep.

A Home Filled with History
We know how incredibly lucky we are. Over the last 50 years, we have gathered ideas from the places we have visited and used them to shape the home—and the life—we live in today. Our cabinets and shelves are filled with that history. We eat from handmade pottery dinnerware and drink from our mugs every day. Some pieces we still use are 30 years old, while the oldest have been retired and placed on display.

May our handmade pottery bring you joy every day.

Welcome to Chez Crutchfield
This time of year, we affectionately call our house Chez Crutchfield. With reservations booked all summer long, our entertaining skills are put to the test—and we love every minute of it.

We plan menus ahead of time, but if plans change, we are perfectly happy to go with the flow. Our only expectation is that our guests have the experience they truly want.
Some friends and family work hard all year and simply want to relax. Others arrive ready to hike, river raft, and take in the sights. Either way, we are ready.

Our dinnerware takes center stage throughout the day. In the morning, salad plates and soup bowls are filled with blueberry muffins and fresh fruit. Later, they serve a light lunch—perhaps charcuterie, chips and salsa, or tomatoes with mozzarella—because we usually have a big dinner planned.
The main meal is almost always a barbecue, where our 10-inch dinner plates allow for generous servings. The table fills quickly with summer favorites:
• Handmade Trays of kabobs, corn, ribs, and chicken
• Big bowls of salad—we started making 12-cup bowls because the 8-cup size was not quite enough for occasions like these
• Fresh bread or honey cornbread in a 9”bowl covered with a cloth napkin to keep them warm.
• Whipped cinnamon butter in one butter dish and regular butter in the other
A Sweet Summer Finish
This year, our raspberries are producing in abundance, so we are chilling tumblers in the freezer and making fresh raspberry shakes. I even had to buy big straws and long spoons—because every last drop is worth getting.
We hope your summer is going swimmingly! Enjoy every moment of everyday.

Summer is a season for slow mornings, long afternoons, and evenings that stretch on. Bring that easy, unhurried rhythm into your kitchen with handmade stoneware from CRUTCHFIELD POTTERY.com.
Serve bright, seasonal salads in roomy serving and mixing bowls—thoughtfully designed for tossing, pouring, and sharing with friends and family. Make morning coffee feel intentional with one-of-a-kind stoneware mugs that hold heat well and fit naturally into your grip. Switch to chilled drinks in the afternoons with our simple tumblers that stay cool—we often chill ours in the fridge—and are perfect for fresh raspberry shakes. Trays make serving effortless—ideal for kabobs, corn on the cob, or a casual spread for relaxed summer nights.
Hope your summer is going splendidly!
