A lot has happened since my last post.
I went back to school, and completed 2 summer classes already.
I knitted “Salty Air Tee” but after blocking it grew significantly. I ended up gifting it to my coworker.
I’m spending the month of August visiting family in Poland. There has been very little knitting, just a whole lot of smiling. I am my happiest self when back in the motherland.

My March socks need the spotlight. They’re serving luxury only.
Whipped these up with now-discontinued Lush 4 Ply (RIP, you beautiful yarn), and they are soft with a capital S. 100% merino = 100% extra.

Are they practical? Not even a little. With no nylon in the fabric, they won’t hold up.
Will they ever see the inside of a shoe? Probably not.
Are they the sock equivalent of lounging in silk pajamas and sipping champagne? Absolutely.

These are officially in the “seen, not worn” category.

The Poet Scarf was an impulsive cast on (along with few other things that I’m excited to show off later).

Since then, it has turned into one of those “one more row” obsessive projects. I haven’t felt that hit of dopamine from a project in a while and I’m already thinking of doing another one in a different color.
I would highly recommend it!

These are still my favorite socks that I’ve knit.
Made with Sunday which I actually really like.
Best part about it? The color combo! Just love how the stripes stand out against the baby blue.

I can finally reveal a finished project now that it its recipient has finally seen it.
I made this top for my mom back in March/April. The whole thing was a bit of a guesswork as I haven’t seen her in 3 years. I had basic measurements but it was touch and go for a while. Plus, I was going at it without a gauge swatch.
For a while there, the sweater was looking like it would fit my 4 year old son instead.
At the end, blocking did its thing. *Note: My mom shops in the junior department because she’s so tiny, so the top could technically still fit my preschooler*
I used Merino/Yak/Nylon base as MC and .crochet colorful OOAK for CC which was required some major stash diving.
After blocking, the merino/yak base turned into almost silky material which provided such beautiful drape. I couldn’t believe how beautiful some wool wash and water can do.

Package was finally sent out in late May and due to finances, I chose to slowest option for shipping to Europe. And boy, did it take its time. It arrived in Zurich, Switzerland and spent some time there before moving on to Warsaw, Poland which must have been really lovely because it was there for a week. Finally, it arrived in Lublin, Poland just as my mom was getting back from Portugal.
The final verdict? It fits perfectly! (See last picture) I got teary eyed with relief and pride that my mom can finally wear sometime I made just for her.

I can see why the Ranunculus pattern is so popular.
I knit mine by holding VIP (merino/cashmere) and Tynn Silk (mohair/silk) together. When finished, it felt like I was wearing a cloud. 👌👌

Jenn’s (.love.wool) first new design after a 2.5 year hiatus is coming soon! For my project I used Purl SoHo Quartz. It’s incredibly soft and due to its Alpaca content, it has these long fibers that add a halo to the fabric. 👌

I cannot say enough good things about the shopping experience at Purl SoHo and their products. I’m slowly discovering my favorites. Recently ordered Line Weight which just blew me away with its weightlessness and softness. My next project definitely needs to be done with Line Weight.

For disclosure, Purl SoHo provided yarn support to me for testing Jenn’s new design.
However, I am in no way obligated to sing their praises. I do so because I truly do think their company has good quality products, excellent customer service, employs people who are yarn obsessed as we are, and are just plain ol’ awesome.

Back when I only knew how to crochet, I was incredibly jealous of all the beautiful colorwork pieces I saw knitters put out. Then, Jenn from .love.wool released the Avena pattern. All the beautiful variations of that top kept popping up on my Instagram feed over and over. It was then that I resolved to learn how to knit, specifically to do stranded knitting.
Now 2.5 years later, stranded knitting is still my favorite technique and Jenn is still my favorite designer. Which makes the opportunity to test her brand new pattern that much sweeter. Keep an eye out for this one 😬
The queen is back and wait till you see what she has in store 😍🥹
