Church St, Catskill NY
This was the original St Luke's Episcopal church designed by Thomas Cole

Cole designed this church building for Saint Luke’s and for his friend and eventual biographer, the Reverend Louis L. Noble, the Church Rector and erected in 1840.

By 1896, the congregation abandoned the Cole-designed church for a new, larger stone structure up the hill on William Street.

The Cole building later served as a garage and offices for the Daily Mail before it was finally demolished to make way for a parking lot near the Greene County government building.

Today, "Church Street" remains a geographic reminder of the parish's original foundation.
