In Cave Spring, Georgia you can swim in one of the state’s largest natural spring-fed swimming pools at Rolater Lake…located within Rolater Park, a 29-acre spot known for cold, clear water, shady lawns, and small-town charm. The pool is fed by overflow from the park’s famous limestone cave spring, which pours out about two million gallons of 57-degree water each day. That means the swimming water stays crisp and refreshing, even on hot Georgia summer afternoons. Rolater Lake is about 1.5 acres and is known locally as the Cave Spring Pool, with a stone-built shape meant to resemble the state of Georgia. Around the water, visitors can stretch out on the grass, pack a picnic, cool off in deep swimming areas, or let younger kids enjoy the shallow stream and reflection pond nearby. The park also has picnic pavilions, a volleyball court, bathhouse, mature trees, and a historic church. This summer, the pool is open Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m., with admission at $5 per person and $5 per cooler.
